I just upgraded from AE 6.0 to AE 6.5 Pro and I instelled filter I had agin for AE 6.5 an threw away the AE 6.0-folder.
Now I get the message: After Effects Warning, There are multiple copies of plug-in effect “name of plug-in” on your drive, bla bla bla…

I have searched the drive but I only find one of each plug-in and no duplicates. Where could they be hiding I’m on Mac OS X.

The extra one lies in the AE package on OSX. Ctrl-click on the AE app’s icon in the applications folder, then choose “show package contents”. The extra plug should be in the MacOS folder therein, in a “Plug-ins” folder.

    Tricky, eh?
