  Replacement for 23″ ACD

  My 23″ Apple Cinema Display has finally given up the ghost. It worked great as my second monitor in FCP for basic color correction (through a Matrox MXO) but it has gone south. My primary monitor is the 24″ LED ACD.

  I’d love to get a conventional color correction monitor but that is not in the budget right now.

  Apparently the Dell 24″ is the way to go using the Matrox MXO (since the new Apple monitors have a mini display port that is not compatible with the MXO)?

  If so, There are apparently two of these Dells out there. One for about $400 (an older model?) and the Dell UltraSharpTM U2410 Monitor for about $600 at the Dell Store.

  So I need some advice…Is the latter, more expensive one the one to get or will the other one work just as well? or is there a better 2nd monitor alternative?

  I believe the UltraSharpTM U2410 has an IPS panel like the ACD 23″, so you might want to go with that.

  I was about to order the 2408 WFT when I saw the new “U’ line.
  I will order the U2410.
