I have a video that I made for a local tv station and they had me upload a mpeg2 file to their FTP server. I used compressor and exported as mpeg2 program stream. the file extension is mpeg. I got a call from the tv station and they said it crashed their server when they tried to play the file. i noticed that the file extension on their mpeg2 videos is “mpg”. Is there anyway to export from compressor a “mpg”2 file?

The guy from the station said that they use sony vegas. I’d rather not use that and im not even sure they have it for mac.

    thanks in advanced

I’d try making a copy of the file, and then just changing the file extension to .mpg (you just rename it.)

See if that plays on your mac, PCs tend to like 3 character extensions I’m pretty sure it will play fine on a PC.

I believe Vegas is PC Only.

    Hope this helps.

    I second that.
    Try changing the extension.
