  Why does adding transitions to jpegs in FCP make them wiggle?

  So I’m trying to make a slide show with jpegs in FCP 5 and whenever I add a cross dissolve or any transition for that matter, in the playback it makes the pictures on either side of the transition wiggle and the motion I’ve added to them suddenly speeds up in the dissolve. Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

  Are you looking at the rendered output on a video monitor?

  Make sure the motion keyframes extend to the end of the transition and that there is no easing applied.

  Use After Effects or Motion.

  I hate … HATE… FCP’s keyframe editor. I haven’t learned motion yet, but from what I’ve read and understand, keyframing in FCP should be a last resort. It’s horrible.
