Pls someone help me here. Never had this issue before. I shot a project in 16:9 on a JVC 101. Edited in FCP 6 using DV 48 PAL Anamorphic, but the damm project wont export in Anamorphic !!!! It kepts pusing it in the 16:9 format but places my footage as a 4:3 dead centre . So it thinks its 16:9 – but the footage is 4:3 within a 16:9 frame ???? Frkkin Weird

    Am I missing something here
    Thnx

All PAL is the same frame size, regardless of whether it’s anamorphic or not. I assume the media in the QT player is squeezed horizontally. If it’s being cut that’s a problem. If it’s squeezed it’s correct. It’s up to the playback application to interpret the material. You can do that in movie properties in the QT pro player.

    All the best,

    Hey Tom

Thnx for the response. See I want it letterboxed – not streched vertically.

If you want your 16:9 sequence letterboxed then you need to place your anamorphic sequence inside a 4:3 sequence and export that.

In FCP 7, all anamorphic footage should export in the correct aspect ratio.
