    Hi there

      Just moved last week from FCP 6 to 7, and come across my first issue. I’ve never had a problem with multicam before until now.

     I can create the multicams and get them to come up in the viewer (all 3 images), however when i press play only the selected images play, this is also the same when synced up with the canvas and sequence, when i press play on the canvas it plays fine but the multicam only updates whens it paused again.

     I think the problem is I can’t turn on Multicam Playback in the RT menu, its only currently showing 2 options, Playback Settings and Full Quality. How do I expand the setting?

     I’ve got Multicam Playback set up in System Settings but this hasn’t changed anything?

    Any ideas?

    Thanks Mark

    Hi Kevin

    The codec is DVCPRO HD 1080i/50

    The Sequence Settings
    Frame= 1440×1080
    Aspect Ratio= HD (1440×1080) (16:9)
    Quicktime Compressor= DVCPRO HD 1080i/50 at 100%

    Thanks Mark

    I have had playback issues like what you have described where the multiclip will go from a 4-up (or 9-up, 16-up, whatever-up) when stopped to a “1-up” of the active angle only as soon as you hit play. In my experience, this has always been related to the bit rate of the footage, in that at your given bit rate, RT playback of the multiclip is not supported in the “multi”-up configuration.

    Hi Eric

    Have you had this problem moving from FCP 6 to 7?

    I have dealt with this problem in FCP 6. We have not yet made the transition to FCP 7, but it sounds like the exact problem with incompatible bit rates that I’ve seen a few times with the version we’re using.

    ok, thanks

    Our other Mac currently uses 6 with the same spec, but with no issues. I might try and Re-install next week.
