A friend of my is considering producing a concert with about 8 Red cameras. Has anyone done a big production with lots of Red cameras ? The concert lasts about two hours..and it will be done twice. There will be a live concert so there is no chance of doing retakes..

I wish!! We do about 4 or 5 concerts a year but our ridiculously low budget allows us 3 MiniDV cameras. (seriously, that’s what I have to work with).
Despite this, it always seems to come out OK.
Using Red Cams? It’ll probably be awesome, just point and shoot and pray to god that your sound and lighting guy gets it right. 🙂

I used to spend my time wondering, now it’s all used up rendering.

Iain is right. Make sure your sound guy knows how to set up for a successful double-system shoot. Otherwise, you may have sync issues.
