I have a problem reading a video file encoded with compressor in H.264 1080p.

The most strange in this problem is that I tried the movie a while ago whith the same computer and it worked well by that time. Further more, it happens the same thing (worked before and not now) with other files. It’s like when I move the file from a drive to another and come it back to my computer, it dosn’t work anymore…

    When I try to read that video, it plays at 5 or 0 fps. It’s a H.264, 54,75 mbits/s (best quality option), 1080p, audio 24 bits 48k.

When I try to read the same video with a different quality: 22,50 mbits/s (high quality option), it plays at around 15 fps and lags sometimes. And same thing for this one, it worked well before.

Played from an external hard drive, it’s a bit better but it’s still around 15 fps.

It’s the same problem with Quicktime pro or VLC.

Are you trying to edit the file in FCP or just play it in QT Player? If you’re trying to edit in FCP, you need to know that h.264 is a delivery codec, not an editing codec, and so you will need to transcode it to an editing codec, such as ProRes.

I just want to play it with QT. Only a part of the video is problematic… the part where there is a lot of information (pixels changing of colour quickly).
