Installing – serial number prompting!?
Hi
I recently bought my very first Mac, a G5 Power Mac, and i am totally loving my machine! I installed FCP 7 and all is well except for the fact that every single time i open the FCP application it asks me to re-enter the serial numbers and my name etc. ???
Any advice out there?Sincerely

Could be because Final Cut Pro 7 is not supported on a G5.

I have been told that fcp7 is not supported, but i got it to work by using Pascifist and installing each package seperately. Had to fix something in the text side of somewhere… (an editor friend of mine helped me and i really don’t have much of a clue how she did it, but it seems to work just fine except for the constant prompting for serial number each time i open fcp7!)

Are you logged on to the machine as the administrator?
I’ve seen instances of software requiring a user to be the administrator to modify the settings necessary to store the serial number permanently…when this happens, the behavior is usually exactly what you’re describing.
