July 23, 2007 at 5:44 pmI really hope I’m reading this wrong…..to update compatibility to my intel mac and cs3 I have to repurchase?? If that’s the case that’s pretty shiesty. I know it’s not much but with all the nickle and diming I’ve seen lately this is just enough to tweak me the wrong way. They know everyone relies heavily on their plug-ins so now we’re stuck with compatibility….Peder I’m sorry if I read this wrong but it leaves a bad taste……

July 23, 2007 at 6:10 pmI believe that Lux, Particular, Sound Keys and Echospace are free upgrades because there’s no real updates to the plugin.
Starglow, Shine, and 3D Stroke all have some updates and improvements on top of the intel/cs3 compatibility.
Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

July 23, 2007 at 8:40 pmYup…I just read some more, you are correct.
I was pretty foul this morning after a terrible shoot when I ranted but it still upsets me a bit that I’m stuck with compatibility. I feel as though I’m FORCED to buy the new version. Yes I have purchased the old one and used it heavily but when I just updated my Zaxwerks to Intel compatibility for free….I may/may not need the “upgrade”……I guess it’s all about choice. It just feels like Red Giant is trying to squeeze some money out of us because they know we pretty much have to have the “upgrade” to work on Intel macs….which a majority of people will be owing in the near future.
Again, sorry to get pissy, I love Trapcode and what Peder has done but the updates used to be free.

July 23, 2007 at 9:33 pmDon’t you think people should get paid for their labor?
Do you think for a minute that it was completely incidental for Peder to get those plugs to work on Intel?
Trapcode had nothing to do with Apple’s decision to switch to Intel inside. It’s just a reality for developers and for customers alike.
I don’t have a problem as long as the prices are reasonable.

July 25, 2007 at 1:56 amGive him & trapcode a break. The plugins are updated, at least the ones that you have to pay for.
Plus, these are so amazingly useful and reasonably priced anyway.
