  Old DVCPro into FCP

  Hi! I’m trying to convince my boss that it is not possible to go from an older DVCPro tape-based camera into Final Cut Pro via BNC cable.

  Or is it possible? What equipment would I need? I’m running FCP 7 on a mac with no BNC card input for the computer.

  My thought was that a deck would be needed with a firewire out.

  Any brilliant solutions out there?

  You require an I/O device such as a capture card. Check out AJA Kona and BlackMagic. There’s no other way to capture a component video signal, which is most likely what your BNCs are most likely outputting.
