FCP with Leopard HUGE DIFFERENCE
Posted by Julian Stewart on September 22, 2009 at 4:53 amJust installed leopard and I must say the performance difference with FCP 7 is massive.
Its way faster, just snappier scrubbing between stuff, just much much better.
HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting FCP 7 with Leopard as it is like buying a new computer.
Just great!
I couldn’t find anything on this subject prior to buying it specifically for FCP, so I post it here now for anyone wondering if they’ll see any difference.
I’m running a 2.2ghz macbook pro, 4gb ram, 500gb HD.
Working on a very big project, so before moving around it was pretty slow.Ninetto Makavejev replied 16 years, 7 months ago 9 Members · 11 Replies -

September 22, 2009 at 9:32 amI´m sad to hear that kind of news, at the moment I have ZERO money to update my trusty old G5 to Intel:(

September 22, 2009 at 1:47 pmDo you mean Leopard or Snow Leopard?
I updated our older G5 from Tiger to Leopard and that was a nice boost. Leopard to Snow Leopard in “preserved speed” is even greater.

Isn’t this kind of an insulting question? Do you intend to insult the person who posted?
I’m glad I can afford to buy high-end equipment and I applaud those who are working toward the day when they will be able to afford better equipment.

Why not? It is the king of the hill, state of art Power PC-mac, one of the last ones ever made, 4 x 2,5 processors. It works perfectly, not a single issue with it! And it is “only” 3 times slower than fastest 8-cores today.
But always with heavy renderings (Twixtor-slo mo on hi-def, etc.) i start dreaming of something faster…
