How are you importing HDV footage into FCP to get the best image quality?
I’ve just finished importing a complete project from 24P M2T files from a DR60/V1U into Final Cut Pro 7 with the following workflow:
1. Wrap the M2T files using ClipWrap into Quicktime files
2. Use compressor 3.5 to convert to ProRes LT and remove pulldown, retaining original 1440×1080. Standard ProRes and HQ seems like overkill to me.I’m not upconverting in compressor since in tests I can see the blocky scaling artifacts others have reported with compressor 3.5. But when I send to color, it’s coming back 1920×1080
