Mac Book Pro, Sony DSR-11, Sony Trinitron Monitor

Basic Issue: Playback from timeline to my external monitor has great video image but bad audio. You can hear the audio but it sounds like they are aliens from outer space!

I’ve replaced all the cables…RCA, and firewire 4pin to 6pin into my deck.

If I hook the firewire cable to my Panasonic DVX I see great images but absolutely no audio signal comes through in the VCR mode.

I’ve tested to be sure my deck and monitor are fuctioning on their own w/o FCP and they are.

    Any thoughts?

What happens if you take the audio from your DSR-11 and connect it to some other audio monitor?

The teeny little speaker in a Sony PVM monitor is more of a joke than a useful audio monitor.
