Has any one Managed to get the 444 alpha channel to work?

I am using After CS4 and when i Render out to the new 444 Proress codec you can export it with an alpha channel, however it seems to be ignoring the alpha?

I’m still in FC 6.0.5 s I have no Prores 444, but if is like any other codec you need to select a “Colors Millions+” option.

It would seem the comp I was working off was broken, tried a Chroma sample and then did some basic matte shapes and exported it.

This works better than Expected, a 444 Chroma keyed person in FCP running at real time. My only concern is its weirdness with gamma.

I had to trash QT and AE prefs for it to work. Once I did, it worked prefectly and in rt!!!!

In the output module of AE, make sure in the QT dialog you set the ‘gamma correction’ from Automatic to None.

ProRes 444 may be the best reason to use FCP7. Bye bye animation codec….

    🙂
