  Merging audio and video clips in FCP Problem

  Hi everyone !

  I have a question about merging audio and videoclips in FCP.
  I have just finished shooting a shortfilm and has recorded the sound seperately on a digital harddisc recorder that have been recording in 4 channels.

  I have been shooting with a hvx200 in 720 p 35 pn mode with 4 audio channels.
  Now I want to sync the video and the external sound in FCP.

  I tried to do it as follows:
  I set an inpoint in the video and audio clips and then > modify > merge clips = a new merged master clip.

  The problem is that I can´t play it from the timeline. The video can hardly play at all.
  There is four channels of external audio and the clip I tried with is about 26 mb (each) WAW. files.
  The video is about 1.34 GB

  I´m editing on a macbook with 2 GB ram
  FCP is 6.01
  Mac OS 10.4.11
