AVCHD Reverse Telecine B.S.
I’m looking for a decent way to reverse telecine all the 24p footage I’ve been shooting with a Canon HF10. When I use Compressor or the menu item under Tools in FCP it never seems to get the cadence right. The only success I’ve had was by tracking the cadence manually with a clip then entering the settings in Cinema Tools. Sure, I could do that hundreds of times and rip out my finger nails at the same time. Is this really the best option in 2009 with FCP 7? The beginning cadence isn’t the same from clip to clip so I can’t do it in batches and besides when I Batch Reverse Telecine in Cinema Tools it doesn’t offer cadence settings. I know my old AE 6.5 can do a decent job guessing cadence. any suggestions?
Another possibility would be to switch cameras. Any file based HD camcorders recording natively in 23.976?

Well, I meant in a small compact camcorder format. Sure, I love shooting with an HVX, but… Not for everyday off the cuff.-sean

ummmm. not small enough for my bike rides. though I’d love to have one. so, does that mean none of the ultra compact non-pro camera have native 24p?
