  • Little warning about Compressor 3.5 (FCS3) and time remapping

Posted by Jeremy Garchow on August 26, 2009 at 4:38 pm

Just doing some time remapping with the new compressor with 23.976 footage that was captured on FCP7.

Even though the frame rate in Compressor was set to ‘current’, compressor tagged the resulting movie as 23.97 (not 23.976) and caused weird issues when played back (of course). So, make sure to force a 23.976 frame rate in Compressor if that’s what you need by selecting the frame rate of “Custom” and then type in 23.976. Once 23.976 is forced, playback was perfecto. Don’t trust a frame rate of ‘Current’. I guess the 23.98 vs 23.976 thing didn’t get fixed in the new update. Silly.

Thanks and have a great day.
