100% colour bars?
Posted by Penelope Wylder on August 26, 2009 at 9:29 amI’ve been asked to use 100% colour bars on the front of a PAL program – can anyone tell me which of the colour bars that FCP offers are the 100% bars?
Many thanks in advance.

EBU bars are 75% intensity and 100%saturation, except the withe that is 100% intensity (0 saturation of course) and the Black (0 intensity, no saturation).
100% Intensity bars are illegal.

August 30, 2009 at 1:24 amHi Peter,
You may be talking about the BBC color bars.
They are used for testing, but you can never broadcast a 100% saturation, 100% intensity color bars.
The Luma+ Chroma in a composite video signal would be much higher than the 133 IRE allowed.

September 16, 2009 at 4:27 pmyou CAN get 100% colour bars in FCP, just go to the generator and select ‘more bars and signals’. There is a drop-down menu in the controls tab in the viewer, I believe, and you can select 100& bars there.
