Been using AE a long time, just loaded CS3. Preview comp works fine @ full res and 50%. Then send to render queue, checking settings, making sure no differences in fps. Animation render out, open in quicktime, the movie stutters. I then also in quicktime export to photo-jpeg in case it is a disk speed problem and the movie still stutters.

Problem looks like 25fps to 30fps stutter, but this is not evident in preview or render settings. Also tried trashing preferences.

Using cc partical world for starfield.

Any ideas or is this a bug.

It is the new retail version, not beta download.

This does happen on my intel macbook and dual 2ghz g5

Using latest OS and quicktime 7.2, and has not happened in AE 6.5, 7

    Thanks

    Are you rendering fields?

have you imported the footage back into ae and gone frame by frame to see if you have duplicate frames and if they occur at regular intervals (like every 5 frames)?

I’m having a very similar problem. Rendered out some sequences at Lossless with Alpha and then placed them into a new timeline in a new project. The original renders play smoothly, but the newly created composition has a stutter issue; it’s like the framerates are different, even though everything is set to 23.98. The stutter is evident both in the RAM preview and the actual render, even though the Lossless videos placed in the sequence together play smoothly on their own. Thoughts?
