  Broadcast render problem.Please Help!

  I send out 4 hours of programming (HD and SD), rendered out in 4 parts (quicktime) to a broadcaster every week.

  The sequence settings are
  NTSC DV 3:2
  720*480
  PIXEL ASPECT: NTSC – CCIR 601/ DV 720*480
  FILED DOM: LOWER (EVEN)
  TIMEBASE : 29.97
  Compressor :DV/DVCPRO – NTSC

  Audio:
  48 htz, 16 bit channel grouped

  I render it out according to their requirements,

  Compressor :DV/DVCPRO – NTSC
  Quality : medium
  frame rate : 29.97
  Scan mode: interlaced
  aspect:4:3
  Dimensions : 720*480 (640*480) (compressor native)

  sound :
  format :integer (Little Indian)
  sample :48htz
  sampl :16 bit
  channel:stereo (LR)

  Preped for internet streaming (Fast start)

  Despite following this procedure and making sure dropped frames is checked in the seq settings, for some reason some files transfer onto their server and others dont. This has happened a lot lately.

  Kindly help.

  The only things that stand out as being strange to me are:

  1. Broadcaster asking for a DV file
  2. Setting DV file to medium quality
  3. Including a fast start for streaming on a DV file

  If you really need a fast start on the DV file, simply exporting the sequence at current settings won’t do it. You’d need to use Compressor or QT Conversion for that.

  Thanks for your quick response Russell.

  I do use QT Conversion for the rendering procedure. I also forgot to add a few “minor” details .Sorry,. Here they are.

  1)The rendering happens on Macs.
  2) The QT files are transferred onto the server
  3) the files on the server are transferred onto a hard drive (formatted for windows xp), connected to a windows xp machine.
  4) The drive is shipped to a different state. Protectvie box says “do not x-ray”
