Why can I only capture 9 minute clips?
I’m trying to capture video from my camera to my pc using log and capture. The problem is that it only lets me capture 9 minute and 25 second long clips, then it stops and gives me a message that there is no more disk space. There is lots of disk space and i can capture many of these 9:25 clips but it’s so time consuming, i would like to be able to just capture the whole thing at one time. I tried searching through settings and preferences but I just can’t figure out why the program decided that I only have 9 minutes and 25 seconds left on my disk. I did recently move my final cut pro application from my pc drive to an external hard drive, so I don’t know if it has anything to do with it. Please help if you can. Thank you in advance.

How’s your drive formatted? It sounds like it might be FAT32 instead of Mac OS Extended. Also, there is a setting in FCP System Settings > Scratch Disk tab that can limit the capture to a specific size.

yes it is fat32 but i don’t have another disk to move the contents to, is there another way to go about it without moving what’s on that drive already?

Nope, not without deleting what’s there already.

I am having the exact same problem you are having? What kind of hard drive are you using? I’m using a Seagate Freeagent.
