DPX laydown
Hi,
I have read the posts on DPX and I still have some issues, and I would like some help.
Basically, I am a self produced short film maker. This makes things hard because:
– I can’t buy Cineon plugin
– The company that provided me with the DPX files has closed 🙁
– I’m doing all by myself…Ok now, my mission:
– Convert DPX files at 2k into something that my DVD studio pro can use. What I have:
– iMac working fine
– FCS 3, the latest one
– Adobe After EffectsAdditional thread:
– the files I have are 1:2.35 format, so if I open the DPX secuence with Outlook for example, when I export it gets squeezed. The only way to maintain proportions I could find is opening a 16:9 project in Motion and import the DPX sequenceNow, until I was working with FCS 2, I could find an open source codec for DPX files, and could also export from Motion to Mpeg2. Now those files that I had in Mpeg2 were not imported by DVD studio pro.
I installed FCS 3 in the hope it could work, and now Motion only sees “yellow vired” images, while other applications can still see dpx files. Couldn’t get further because I got asleep!
I know I’m doing something wrong, but I also know that I have gone fare beyond many others, so I know I will make it sooner or later. Point is, is there an easy way to convert DPX into a good quality DVD that I can send to festivals?
The 35mm part has already been taken care of, I just need a DVD.
So, I guess you get the picture, my learning curve is constantly up every day sleeping 5 hours a day…thanks in advance.
