  Sorry guys, back again.
  When importing an AVI or mpeg, i suddenly have no audio.
  it works fine on my laptop but not on FCP, why? dammit! why?

  I used to spend my time wondering, now it’s all used up rendering.

  Not codecs FCP likes, these should be converted with Compressor before bringing them in. AVI is just a wrapper like QT so it can be a lot of different codecs on them.

  Use MPEG STREAMCLIP to convert. Free, and does a great job.
