  Optimal settings for Eos-5 video to FCP?

  So, studying the craft here,so bear with me..

  Just checking out the quickest and best quality workflow for 5d mark II video material to final cut.

  Now doing the compressor-fcp route : Just a bit unsure what settigs would be the optimal quality wise?

  The rig is MP 1.1 (4×3.00) and raid 10 system with external scratchs.
  15 mins of material seem to be around 30 mins in compressor (HD uncompressed 8bit 1080p24)

  The output will be 1980×1080 24p video projector and Full HD tv pal.
  I will in the beginning just study basic editing but plan to import matte work asap as well.

  So ,what codec would be the smoothest to edit in that said rig,and what would provide the best possible quality? ProRes 422 HQ?

  Please bear with me,threading new ground here… 🙂
  And I thought print media/photography was hard…

  Bump for clarifying :

  Anyone have pointers where to get more information about the best size/quality codec for my said use?

  So,atm,I am work
  ing with the said HDuncompressed 8bit1080p/24 but a 15 sec clip is about 2Gb..
  The original “raw material” is about 200megs.. So it about tenfolds in the conversion.
  I would guess that it gets unneccessary big,even if I will process it heavily in the color?

  What kind of codec should I be looking for for 1080p portraying?

  The hard way would be doing test clips with different settings and then sit a day in the front of the projector/Tv but that is a bit challenging as they are not in the same building as the rig.
  So,pointers in the right direction would be appreciated… 🙂
