  Capturing clips from a Sony PD170

  After successfully capturing about 1/3 of the clips from a tape, I started getting an error message “Batch Capture: Timecode Error: Unable to locate the specified timecode. You may have specified a timecode with insufficient room for a pre/post roll operation.” (The clip in question was in the middle of the tape.)

  I then restarted the computer and camera and got the message “Warning: You are about to capture Drop Frame media from a device currently detecting or configured for Non-Drop Frame media. If you proceed, you may experience changes in logged in and out points, problems relinking media, or removal of master clip relationships.”

  I am unable to capture the remaining clips. Anyone seen this before? Any solutions?

  Did you break the timecode? That would cause issues even if you are in the middle of the tape.

  I can’t help with the drop-frame issue though.

  I did break the timecode; I turned the camera off and on over the shoot. I thought it would be continuous, so I need to check my settings. Meanwhile, I’m using Capture Now to get it done. Fortunately, it was a short shoot. Thanks for the answer. Steve
