I have used fcp for about 5 years and for some reason not only is my audio off synch, but after doing a batch capture after about every 5 minutes the camera pauses and gives me this message:

“the audio sample rate of one or more of your captured media files does not match the sample rate on your source tape. This may cause the video and audio of these media files to be out of sync. Make sure the audio sample rate of your capture preset matches the sample rate of your tape.”

i’ve played with the capture presets and nothing seems to work.

Without know more, it sounds as if your camera records audio at 32khz. The FCP presets are all set for audio at 48khz, so you need to create a capture preset for 32khz audio.

What camera do you have? Do you know how to modify existing presets to create new ones?
