I simply want to add an external HDTV monitor for my FCP work.
I’ve scoured the relevant posts here, but apparently my problem is that I have PCI-X slots (older dual G5), so the Intensity Pro and Decklink HD Studio will not work for me. Those cards require PCI Express slots.

Can I somehow just use the second monitor DVI output on my G5 and configure it as a video monitor?
And the more I investigate HDTVs and computer monitors, the line between them is getting very blurred.
    Any recommendations?
    Thanks
    A

    Dual 2.5 G5, PowerPC, OS 10.5, FCP 6.

You might look on eBay to find a PCI-X card. I had a PCI-X Blackmagic card when I had a G5.

You can use the Matrox MXO from your DVI output to a second screen.
