  can Final cut pro 3 open in Final cut pro 6.0.5

  Hi ,

  I am really looking for urgent help . i have received documentary edited in Final Cut pro 3 . And i have to re-edit on the work file .but i have upgrade version of Final cut pro 6.0.5 . and i don’t have FCP 3 verson at present. My question is can i open and edit the FCP verson 3 file in FCP verson 6.0.5 . i need a urgent ans please and solution .

  An FCP3 should open in FCP6. What exactly happens when you try to open it?

  Yes. When you open the Project FCP will inform you that it is an older project and will need to be updated. Let it update the project and start editing.

  The person with FCP 3 WILL NOT be able to open your project when you are done, however.

  My bet is that he’s getting a project in FC”S” 3, not FC “P” 3….

  who is editing in FCP3 anymore: and, more importantly, FCS3 has been out for, what, a few hours? Where do these people get their software?

  He’s editing in FCS2, os my bet is that he’ll either have to go the XML route, or upgrade.
