  • Log/Transfer clipping RED files?

Posted by Aaron Neitz on July 24, 2009 at 2:21 am

I’m too slammed to troubleshoot! One of my editors is Log/Transferring in some RED files and it’s inexplicably truncating some of the files. i.e. 40 seconds of footage simply doesn’t come over.

is this a known problem? I’ve never heard of it.

everything is super straight forward. No in/outs set on the footage, etc…

Could be a dropped frame in the footage. Try opening the clip up in REDAlert and transferring it that way. Also look at the RED forum as this has been discussed. Don’t remember how it turned out.

    Aaron,

Have you been trying to view clips and log and transfer at the same time? I have found that if you let the log and transfer process finish (uninterrupted) then clips will not be truncated. I have on occasion, manually set ins and outs on each clip before doing the log and transfer. This seems slow, but it has worked for me in the past.

    Good luck.
