Graphic card updates
A quick OT post but can’t find the answer. I have several 8 core Macs here. One is the 8 core 3.0 Ghz based on the Cloverton Chip, that I had BTO with an x1900 card from ATI. Two other 8 cores are the last generation Harperton 2.8 Ghz that I had ordered with the stock ATI Radeon HD 2600.
Anyone have real world experience with upgrading these cards to a Open CL friendly version that will work with Snow Leopard when it ships? Apparently, the x1900, though powerful, is not on Apple’s list of supported cards for Open CL.

We just upgraded both the Cloverton & Harperton Mac Pro to ATI 4870’s. Though the 4870 is listed as only working with 2008 and 2009 Mac Pros, it worked in our Cloverton Mac Pro, so far… We were having rendering issues with the ATI Radeon HD 2600 with some of the more intensive effects in HD.
You’ll need to trash your FCP prefs so it will rebuild the RT Profile.
