Hello, Im working on a project with XDCAM footage. I have all the footage loaded in my project but my producer needs to log and select what we are going to use. I just open a new sequence and added all the clips in the timeline (1hr total). Is there a way to tell FCP to use the timecode from the clips instead of the timecode of the timeline? I’m using the embeded sdi timecode. When playing the clips individually from the source monitor It works automatically.
    Thanks for your help!!

You can highlight all your clips on the timeline and drop the Timecode Reader Filter on them.
Video Filters > Video > Timecode Reader

A timecode window should appear on the screen and reference each individual Clips timecode. Render > Master to tape or export a QT.

    hope that helps

Another output idea is to play the seq with timecode (in realtime) out to a DVD recorder.
