  Vector over video

  I am working on a DVD menu right now. Created vector imagery/type in Illustrator. Saved this as a png-24. Imported the image in FCP and placed it on the time line over running video and music.

  What is the best way to export the video so that it holds the vector image crisp?

  Also – is this the best way to do this or should I place the two separately in DVD Studio Pro?

  Hi Camren,
  Start by exporting from FC with a good codec. At least (least) DVCPro50.
  Never use DV.

  If I understand you, this is a video file to play as part of the opening menu on an SD DVD

  I may be wrong, but DVD menus are converted to SD mpeg2 by DVD Studio Pro. So I would export it via compressor to a high qual SD mpeg2 to minimise transcoding.
