custom keyboard – selecting clips in timeline
Hi,
Today I decided it’s time to customize my keyboard layout. I assigned something for all the Function keys along the top and I changed the shortcut to “add edit” (which cuts all tracks) to “1”. One problem though:
I don’t have a command for selecting which portion of the clip I want to delete from the timeline after I cut the clip, ya know what i mean? So what is that action referred to as? If I don’t know what that’s called, then I can’t change it to my desired shortcut.
If I can do that with the keyboard, then the only thing I need my mouse for is going on Myspace.

What you want to do actually takes 3 moves:
1. Mark Clip = X
2. Select between In and Out = OPT + A
3. Ripple Delete = DELETE or Shift + DeleteKevin Monahan

Don’t usually need the second step unless you already have something selected.

Right Tom. With Auto-Select you usually don’t need to do that step. Often though, I do have something selected. I’d call Step 2 a “failsafe”.
Also, you do have to have Auto Select selected properly so you can get Mark Clip to work properly.
