    I’m working with HDV 1080i (1440×1080) with 48kHz audio.

For the first time ever my timeline will not allow me to lay more than 2 audio tracks down in the same timecode… I can put audio on Tracks 1 and 2 OR Tracks 3 and 4 — but not 1 and 2 and 3 and 4.

I can’t do any overlapping of audio.

I’ve checked my audio rates and all the clips are the same as my Sequence — 48kHz

When I put in any overlapping audio I get “beep beeps” on playback for the audio on Tracks 3 and 4 plus, the red render bar appears… when I render, absolutely nothing happens.

I’m sure there’s a setting somewhere that I’ve overlooked but I’ve spent a lot of time checking everything and searching your forum (and others) for a clue. Nothing so far.

Any help will be met with great enthusiasm and appreciation.

Never mind… for some reason, it’s now working… after 4 days of not working… Mercury in Retrograde?
Maybe the witch doctor I hired actually was worth the coin.

There is a setting in the user preferences that specifies the maximum number of ‘real time’ (ie. no beeps) audio tracks. I would recommend you set this to no more than 6/8, and render out the audio where multiple tracks are used.

    Have a nice day.

Aha! That did it… timeline is “back to normal” and playing nicely with the audio and overlaps.

Many kind thanks. I feel a bit foolish for not discovering this myself however, I won’t ever forget it now.

    Again, thank you.
