  FCP Project Hangs on start up

  Hello all,
  I have taken over editing a project that is very large and not organized well. On an macbook pro when i open the project it causes FCP to stop responding and gives me the spinning pinwheel for several minutes. After that it is fine.

  I have had to move it over to my Powerbook G4 and now it does not seem to open. The project will start up and ask me to reconnect media and after that step FCP stop responding and i get the pinwheel indefinitely.

  I have already tried trashing the preferences. Any ideas on how to fix the problem?
