  • Poor quality DVD from fcp and encore

    Hi,

I am trying to export a wedding to DVD (simple task?) its approx 2 hours long. What is the best way to do this? I use adobe encore for creating the dvd.

I have exported a quicktime using current settings (dv pal codec) and then let encore compress this large file, (about 30gb) but found that the quality is very bad and the footage looks jumpy, especially when the camera pans or moves. its almost unwatchable. I must be doing something wrong, but what? It seems like the footage should look a considerable amount better in quality, it has been filmed on the sony z1p in hdv 1080i.

    Any help would be appreciated
    thanks,

    Jarrod.

Encore could possibly be the worse DVD software ever created.

    Export your file from FCP.

Take it into Compressor and create a high quality MPEG-2 file.

Take that into DVD Studio Pro and make your DVD.

If you want even higher quality, purchase BitVice from Innobits or Episode Pro from Telestream to make the MPEG-2 file
