  • Problems capturing audio and video as one file

I’m capturing from a Beta tape using Final Cut, which is something I’ve done numerous times before.

But for some reason, Final Cut has decided to start splitting the video and audio of my capture files, and saving them in separate folders. The audio get put in Audio Capture Scratch, and the video is saving the regular Capture Scratch folder. I need the file as one, mostly just for simplicity’s sake.

I don’t know what preference or user setting to change to get Final Cut to save the audio and video together as one file in Capture Scratch folder. Possibly I need to delete the user preferences and start fresh, but I don’t know how to do that either.

    Thanks for any help.

    Hi Aaron,

    Try this…

Under “system settings” where you select your primary and secondary scratch disks etc. there is also a small option below that portion of the window where you can capture audio and video separately. Make sure this option is not selected. My best guess is that that’s what’s happening to you here.
