    Hi,
I’ve been using final cut pro, as my editing software for 3 years and i’ve never encountered a problem with capturing . I am familiar with interlacing on the image during playback , but what is happing to my image can’t be that …it looks like it is artifacting. When i tried using the de-interlace filter, it was unsuccessful. I also tried cinema tools- reverser telecine. Ive tried over a dozen things. if anybody could help me it would much appreciated. The details are…

I shot on a panasonic hvx 205A, in low light, with the gain on low.
I shot it on a DVC tape, at 720x480i 24p
i am using capture now through an external deck, via firewire.

Please please please, someone get back to me ASAP if they know how to fix this, i have a deadline that already passed.
    Thank you
    Danyella V

    Danyella –

Any chance you can post an image of what you are seeing? Would help.

Gonna put on my teacher hat —

Are you sure you captured the 24p material correct? You used 29.97, yes?

    Ok, teacher hat off.

Did you re-capture it? Do the artifacts show up in the SAME place?

    Help us help you.

    Mike

Describe and/or post an example of the problem. Is the camera fixed or moving or panning. Tell us more.
