Mac OSX 1.5.7 Killed my eSATA connexion
After installing the last MacOSX update I’m unable to use the Express eSATA connexion.
If I try to start with the card in, after few minutes the Apple become a circle with a slash in the middle: Forbidden.
If I try to insert the card once the MBP is powered, the HDs don’t show up. The computer is unable to shut down with the card on.
Reinstalling MacOSX 10.5.6

What does it say on the manufacturer website for the card and / or eSATA RAID? I was told by my SAN folks to wait on 10.5.7 for the moment.

Which SAN people told you? I cloned all my drives before I updated and 10.5.7 seems to work, no issues. I have the same SAN as you.
Just curious if they called you or you called them?

I asked the folks who make the cards that run the SAN. There is nothing known that is wrong, but as we all know, the Apple beta program is miniscule so since the system is working, and there’s no reason to update, the feeling was to let the update run for a few weeks of “public beta” to ensure there’s nothing lurking in there that could cause issues.
Even if they didn’t say anything, I always wait at least three weeks before running any updates unless we have a specific problem that the update fixes. This is true of OS, QT and ProApp updates.

What express card do you have?

That’s a bummer. I know Cal Digit has not yet approved 10.5.7 for their products yet, so that’s the main thing holding me back.

What brand esata express card are you using?
My esata express card from Griffen works fine with 10.5.7

I’ve reinstalled the famous Silicon driver and everything is working fine.
I’m using the LaCie SATA II 34 ExpressCard.
Never a single problem.

My Sonnet cards are all fine, CF reader, sata, FW even my evdo card from verison works fine.
