Shot 35mm greenscreen now what?
I’ve got about five minutes worth of greenscreen shots on 35mm that have been transfered to 1080 D5 tape. When it comes time to download TARGA Image Seguences to a hard drive for use with AE does the lab use the D5 tape as the source or will they have to go back to the original film?

i assume they will use the digitized footage from the tape.
you may be able to have your film transfered to file (or image sequence) rather than tape (or in addition to, if you want a tape backup). that would save you the extra step of having to capture it from tape.
you may also be able to get higher resolution files if you are using image sequences from film than you would from tape, but you would need to talk to the film transfer company about what they offer.

if you can capture the hd uncompressed or straight to the image sequence, your quality should be very good. you will, however, need a fast drive array to capture 1080 uncompressed and a capture device that supports uncompressed capture.
is the 1080 d5 tape interlaced (24p with a pulldown)? if so, you would like to remove the pulldown before creating the image sequence. you may be able to do this at capture or you may have to do it in another piece of software (ae can do this easily).
if you are having someone else do the capture, make sure they can capture hd uncompressed. and, if your tape has a pulldown added, ask if they can remove that too.
