I have never seen this before: ProResHQ/1080/2398 Lots of layers with rough compositing, Animation codec + alpha, and some text. Everything looks great in FCP and out from Kona.

when I export, self contained or otherwise, the resulting quicktime has gamma pops and color shifts happening in the MIDDLE of shots! I’ve trashed prefs, I’ve deleted renders, I’ve copy and pasted into fresh sequences.

Now if I bring that Quicktime back INTO Final Cut = no POPS!

    FCP 6.0.05
    QT 7.5.5

Any know issues that I should be looking for? I know QT is completely unreliable, but I’ve never seen it this bad. These pops are going into my postings – I’ve having to send SDI to another station to digitize to get around the problem.

there is a preference somewhere in quicktime that talks about “color compatability with final cut studio” or something to that effect.

check that box and it won’t happen again. 🙂

Nice though Chris, but already tried that. All that does is affect the overall gamma…. but all the pops are still there, just displayed darker.

    wierd.

I had the exact problem you described and doing that fixed it.

    QT 7.6 solved the issue.

Dear Apple, Quicktime is out of control. Thanks.

[Aaron Neitz] “Quicktime is out of control.”

everyone is praying Quicktime X will be solid.

Ah, but should we have to pray?

maybe we can get the users group together, at night, give everyone pitchforks and torches and make like an avenging mob outside Apple’s headquarters?

    I like that idea.
