Is a partition and a dual boot the same thing?
I have a 250GB drive that has all of my apps and OS on it. It has about 32Gb’s left on it. I’m trying to install a copy of Avid Media Composer software and I’ve been told, both on this forum and by Avid, that its best to have separate start ups for FCP and Avid. Or a partition set up for the drive which hold the OS.
So I followed some partition guidelines I found
https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/partitioning_tiger.html
to walk you through the process and It says after attempting to divide the drive “that their isn’t enough space on the drive”.
Is their a certain amount of space required to divide a drive?
I must be doing something wrong, I also have another link that is title “Mac OS X Leopard & Tiger Dual Boot”.https://installingcats.com/2007/11/06/dual-boot-os-x-leopard-tiger-105-104-installation/
should I be attempting this instead of a partition?
Thanks
