  • Help please asap…how do you get rid of text on a existing video

Posted by Chris Balogh on May 1, 2009 at 5:53 pm

I have past videos and the master raw footage is nowhere to be found. The footage is completely edited with text on it. Now of course I could scale the daylights out of it, but I will lose resolution. Is there a way to edit the text out of existing footage? Thanks in advance.

No, there isn’t. Because the information it is covering isn’t there. It isn’t like it is a separate layer that you can strip off of the tape, it is part of the image. Remove the text and you have black…if you can remove JUST the text.

You can blur it, or mask it (leaving a hole), or cover it with something else, but there is no way to remove the text and get the image underneath clean.
