Script to create preset Project Bins – Template
Does anyone know if there is some sort of FCP script to create a preset list of Bins for a new project? I create the same set of bins all the time and would like to streamline our facility.
I use “Folder Setup” for After Effects (https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/exchange/index.cfm?event=extensionDetail&extid=1698043). It works exactly how I would like it for FCP.

I don’t know if there is a script to do that, but I created the template I want and then just saved that as a General Template and whenever anyone starts a project they open the General Template re save it with the project name and use that as a starting point.

Our facility does the same as Steve’s does. I have a Volume where I keep individual project templates of the shows we produce. This volume is write protected so everyone needs to Save As the project with the appropriate show name and number. This prevents anyone from overwriting the Original Templates. In each project template are the desired Bins, General Elements, and a Sequence with materials laid out in order such as Slate / Countdown / Tease / Open / Sponsors / Bumps, etc… All needed is to fill in the empty spaces in the sequence with new show media.
