    Hello all!

I am new to this forum. I searched the frequently asked questions and cannot find an answer. I am hoping you can shed some light. We are trying to create a workflow for capturing tapes shot on an Sony 900. The tapes are Cine Alt HD Cam. We are using FCP and trying to use the Start sotp detect tool. We cannot get it to worl. Is this because we FCP cannot perform this task on DV Cam tapes? Is it because we are using our camera to capture? Does anyone have expereince using this function with these high def tapes?

    Best Regards,

    Georgienne Bradley

This option only works with formats you capture via firewire…like DV, HDV and I think DVCPRO HD. HDCAM is captured via HD SDI via a capture card…so this won’t work.

The function is called DV Start/Stop Detect. It’s called that because it ONLY works with DV material.

    All the best,
