  • How to play sequence backwards?

Posted by Anna Lord on April 10, 2009 at 6:27 pm

I want to reverse the material on my whole sequence which consists in numerable clips, plus I want to invert the order of the clips as well. thus I want to see my whole sequence played backwards.
Does anyone know how to go about this in another fashion than doing it clip by clip, which is miserably time consuming??
    Thank’s !

    Duplicate the Sequence.

    Nest the entire Sequence.

    Modify > Speed > 100% reverse.

I’ve never tried this on a sequence, but maybe nest the sequence and use Time Remap, Reverse, in the Motion tab and see if it works.

thank’s. I nested it and then used the apple+j button and ticked reverse. I have a feelin it worked out but it’s rendering now so I’m not sure. If not I’ll let you know so you won’t have to make the same mistake.
    Thank’s a lot!

    Hi Anna,
FC have a problem playing footage backward.
If you are playing, lets say DV footage (Lower-first) in normal play te Lower fields are read before the Upper.
Playing the footage backward, the Upper fields should be read before the Lower. But FC do this wrong. Keep reading Lower before the Upper.
There is a free plugin from Nattress (Reverse: https://www.nattress.com/Free/freeFCP.htm)
to help you to avoid this problem.
Just drop it on the nested sequence.

or add the built in shift fields filter to the nest
