  undo speed changes

  Hello, I’d be most greatful if someone could help me.
  I’ve changed the speed of my clips using apple + j . Now I’ve looked through my material and I don’t like it. on some of my clips I’d like to undo the speed change but when I fill in 100% in the box, using the apple + j function again, I get ” Unable to complete command. A conflict occured during a trim operation.”
  How do I go about this?

  Another question: When marking clips sometimes, quite randomly, more clips then the ones I click on gets marked. This is weird since it doesn’t happen all of the time. Is there a function that prevents them from doing so?

  To answer your first question, move the clip to the very end of the timeline, so nothing’s behind it, make your speed change, then move back. A pain? yes. Does it work? Every time.

  Second question….are you holding the shift key?

  Question 1: Match frame to the original clip. Change the speed to 100% in the Viewer, then edit into the timeline replacing the speed change clip.

  Question 2: This is determined by which tracks have Auto Select turned on. If you don’t know what that means, search the term in FCP Help. You need to understand how it works.
