I’m a new convert to Final Cut from Media 100, so forgive me if I ask foolish questions!
Successfully edited a native XDCAM EX sequence & all looks fine. Exported to compressor & encoded a 10 bit uncompressed quicktime. Result looks aliased? Should I experiment with the scaling settings or is there a better way?

What are you trying to accomplish with this method? Mastering your HD timeline to tape or to create a DVD?

The absolute best and cleanest way to downconvert HD to SD is via hardware like the AJA Kona series. It’s also done in realtime with zero rendering required. We regularly edit HD material that is downconverted and mastered to BetaSP and DigiBeta tape in realtime via our Kona 3’s.

Chris go into your compressor setting and make sure
the resize filter is set to best.

    that makes a HUGE difference.

Thank you Chris. Resize set to best worked fine. Is it ever worth playing with the antialiasing & detail settings? Or should I leave well alone?
