  optimal stabilizing and changing clip speed

  HI,

  I have Red footage that is shot both 6 fps and 12 fps for the motion blur effect, and I need to slow the clips down to normal speed. The clips are shot from a moving vehicle and they are very bumpy. I’m guessing that the only way to rescue the clips would be to stabilize them – does anybody know the best way to do that? We want to create a subtle motion blur if possible, but the clips look pretty psychedelic the way they are, or when I try to slow them down to normal speed. Do you think we have to reshoot? Actually the 12fps clips are pretty OK, but still need to be stabilized.

  In FCP6 try Smoothcam. AfterFX has image stabilization and there are others out there – try lyric.com. I have no idea which would be best for your situation. There are probably demos you can download,
